Credit Union 101

A credit union is a cooperative organized to serve a specific group of people rather than the general public. It allows members to pool their resources for their common benefit. Banks are owned by investors, but credit union members truly own their own institution.

Benefits of membership include:

  • Preferential savings and loan rates
  • Fewer fees and charges
  • Personal service

Our credit union has been in operation since 1937, and is insured for member shares by NCUA.

Membership Eligibility

The following groups and their families are eligible to join our credit union:

  • Hoboken Board of Education employees
  • Hoboken Elks Lodge #74 members
  • Hoboken Parking Authority employees
